|Scottish Junior Elite Camp (Handicap 8 and under)|
|Dates||To be announced.|
The camp has been designed for juniors looking to pursue golf as their career. You should hold a handicap of 8 or under as this camp focuses on developing and enhancing your player performance through a mix of technical and performance related coaching. You will benefit from using our state-of-the-art technologies and techniques to enhance your performance, while also learning from your peers and coaches.
Juniors on this camp will receive additional one-on-one sessions with our coaches and the week concludes with the University of the Highlands and Islands ‘Highland Junior Elite Cup’. Family are invited to attend the prize giving and celebratory dinner following the competition.
|Day 1||We will meet you in Inverness to take you to the camp accommodation in Dornoch, before meeting the golf team and other juniors at a welcome dinner.|
|Day 2||You will take part in our skills assessment in the morning before moving onto the Struie golf course to play 9 holes. We will also encourage you to take part in our town walkabout to explore the lovely beaches and village of Dornoch before an early evening barbeque.|
|Day 3||We will have a morning of golf coaching and have an early lunch before a short coach trip to play Castle Stuart links course. On the way, we’ll make a short stop at Culloden Battlefield before making the short 20-minute drive to Castle Stuart. Not only is Castle Stuart a great place to play, it also a great place to eat, so we will stop for dinner in the clubhouse before boarding the coach for the drive home which will take about an hour.|
|Day 4||Your morning of coaching will combine technical performance with a strategy session. This will enable you to gain tips and insight into how best to approach the round. You will have a chance to demonstrate this with your coaches when we play 18 holes at the Royal Dornoch Golf Club.|
|Day 5||We will have a final coaching and practice session in the morning before providing you with your individualised feedback on your progress. We’ll then play at the nearby links course at Brora Golf Course, before we put our golf clubs aside for a local excursion to Dunrobin Castle followed by a BBQ in the castle grounds.|
|Day 6||Competition time! You will compete for the Highland Junior Elite Cup, playing 18 holes of the Royal Dornoch Golf Course. Tee off will be after lunch so there is time for a warm-up and practice in the morning and to celebrate you and your family will be invited to our prize giving dinner in the Royal Dornoch Golf Club.|
Students from Alan and Lesley’s Professional Golf degree programme with University of the Highlands and Islands will also be on hand to assist throughout the week.
